Just called to make an appointment for the first time. I haven't been able to switch my doctor's PCP to a doctor at this clinic yet because he still has traditional medicaid and the receptionist was very understanding and very sweet. They will see him in 2 days. I am so happy. I've been trying to get him to a doctor for so long and have been rejected everywhere.

The facility is filthy. You can walk in and see that the last time this place was properly cleaned was about 5 years ago. Then, because they are so busy their wait time is insane. My daughter needed an x-ray and was very nervous about being left alone. A medical assistant brings us in and tell me I have to leave my 8 year old son alone in the hall. I tell her, I will get my daughter taken care of and I will step out into the hall with him. The x-ray tech comes in, she was so sweet and kind, asks my daughter a few questions and then tells me you can wait until I'm about to take the x-ray then step out. I said perfect. As my daughter is waiting I'm sneaking out of the room into the hall, another tech comes and begins to shut the door in my face. When I said I'm waiting for my daughter to feel comfortable, he tells me we need the door shut. I tell him I know this, I'm getting my daughter comfortable so there will only need to take one x-ray. He literally slams the door in my face. I understand they are so busy and need to move patients as fast as they can, but when a child is scared, they need to be more patient. I will never come here again. I will drive 2 hours away to another facility before I come back.

The Dr/Nurses were good, everything else was not. 1st, if you took out all the patients, you'd have no visible way to know this is a children's medical facility. No paintings, picturs, books, activity centers, wall or ceiling murals, nothing that made it "inviting to a child" at all. The examination room was so plain we abandoned a game of I-spy because the only thing we could spy was our own belongings. 2nd, they are extremely poor at scheduling/communication. Each wing/dept indicating the other will handle it when neither is handling it or will acknowledge ability to. 3rd, the lab values lunch over patient service. Waited 90 minutes for them "to return from lunch" and still couldnt get anyone to answer the phone. And finally...they charge you to park in an open air parking lot while employees park in a 4 story parking garage... they could learn a lot from Scottish Rite, Cook Childrens, and probably others who know how to engage and welcome a child, cover all stations all the time, miscommunicate but own up and fix it, and allow you free access to their parking garage!

This facility is horrible wait time is outrageous & doctors aren't good with children rude no bedside manner. To be a Children's facility I'm shocked they allow some of their doctors to work with Children like Dr. Mootha horrible attitude & shouldn't work with children... Dr. G was fantastic. My daughter thought she was playing games and changed from daytime accidents to accident free! The whole staff at Children's was so wonderful with my daughter. Also Dr. G was always willing to listen to our concerns and reassure us. Great experience.

The nurse practitioner here is AWFUL and has a serious people problem. She always has attitude with me and literally harasses me about giving my child goat milk/carrot juice during EVERY visit even though she referred me to their network dietician who said it was perfectly fine and becoming more popular among newborns and infants who receive goat milk/carrot juice mixture. After one visit she even called me on my cell phone at home 20 minutes after leaving the office to continue to lecture and argue with me about the issue she has. Seriously? I also had taken my child in for 'nursemaid's arm' (her little elbow joint had popped out of place and she wasn't using her arm and had no grip) and was told that she possibly had nerve damage and needed extensive physical therapy or that she had a stroke. My husband and I were told to go to the Children's Hospital ER in Plano, a 45 minute drive. The Dr. there took a total of 2 minutes to fix it and within 10 minutes my baby was completely back to normal. Definitely something that could have been fixed in office had the actual Dr. seen us. The staff is super nice, it's the nurse practitioner here that has issues. Definitely find another pediatrician to take your child do. You won't be seeing an actual doctor here, just an NP who thinks she is a doctor.

I really love the staff here. Tele, the nurse is extremely helpful and always in a great mood. The pediatrician Dr. Raja was on point with my childs diagnosis before the results were in 4 days later. By law although she was sure she was right she wasn't able to prescribe meds until a confirmed positive result was made at the lab, she did answer every question I asked and told me to call if I had any questions on keeping my child comfortable and at ease while I waited on the test results. The Wellness Checks are very booked all the time. If you have to reschedule for any reason it takes up to 3 months. Every time I needed to see a doc right away I was scheduled on the day I called or the very next day. No complaints there. I do have to say that my daughters feels great going here and besides the time it takes for a scheduled wellness check everything else is pretty great.

I'm sorry to say I have to even give this place a star. It's not the staff just my dr in general. She really seems like a racist and I'm sure out to get anyone she can. She's called cps on me for what? Being a single mom talking to you about my kids behavior and my concerns and feelings. Keep in mind I'd cause no harm to my daughter or myself ever. The worker who came over saw that as well. I'm really sure it has to do with my color. Why can't my daughter see a dermatologist? Who the hell are you to deny her that right? Make a call and get her on the list. I'm happy to say I will be changing her dr. As of today.

The Docter is racist. And she had problem with me not giving my baby a flue shot. Sorry but that is my choice not hers. And when I told her that my baby had no physical check up she looks at me and says you have to get your story straight. Like I was laying. In my 14 years of experience with kids Docter I must say she is the worst one!!!!!

I absolutely do not like coming to this location at all. I should have took heed of the advice online about this location. I came here today after calling to schedule an appointment for my son yesterday. The receptionist had the worst disposition ever. She had an attitude with me and I was 30 minutes early. Then she went on to tell me they have been calling to confirm our appointment, but they had the wrong number. How?? I have come to this office before plus I gave the lady my number yesterday to set up the appointment. Strike one. So she then asks for my son's member number, I give it to her. She then states he is inactive. I call my provider and they say he is active. Strike two. Third and final strike, Nancy wants to ask if I want to check in or reschedule. No I don't want to check in or reschedule. I am leaving. This is the second time I came here. Experiences like these make me not want to go to the doctor at all. Worst possible customer service ever. Thank you Nancy for showing me why I should never come to that location ever again.

Wish I had better options! My child is covered through Texas Medicaid per the adoption agreement so I am limited on where I can take my son. This place changes doctors faster than my son changes girlfriends.... They also do not have diversity in gender for physicians either. Only women at present and that is enough to stress out any male teen going in for an exam and hamper his ability to be open and honest about "boy" things.

The doctor is okay, not the best... tries to be condensing at times. She is smart and has given me good advice. I trust her. The thing about this location is they NEVER answer the phone. I've left several message and the one time I got a callback it was 7 AM in the morning. Who does that?? They really should hire more professional people. I've been going here for 4 years. It hasn't gotten any better unfortunately :(

The wait times are long, but the doctor and staff take their time with you. They make sure all your questions are taken care of, and they don't rush you. Plus they are part of the children's hospital system so all the doctors and specialists can see your kids chart. Love the my children's clinics.

Brought my son to the ER and was told by the man at the front desk my baby couldn't be seen because my husband and I didn't have our ID's. How can you neglect medical attention to a child? Then I called the hospital after I drove back home to look for it and the woman who answered said it was okay if we didn't have our ID's because he could take a picture of us but he didn't tell us that, we lost at least a good 2 hours when my child could have been seen by a doctor instead of us running back and forth.

This emergency room is horrible from the time you check in til the 4 hour wait while your child sits there sick and freeing from the Ac that blows constantly. We moved here from California and my child went to Children's in Oakland. That one really rose our expectations about children's hospital. Very organized, clean, friendly and better functioning. The Dallas Children's has completely lowered our standards on Children's. Both times we've brought my daughter here it has been OVER A four hour wait while they just move you from one waiting area to the next. We've seen people come in after us yet go before us. The waiting rooms are far apart mind you!!! They need to improve there functionality. And, live up to the name and expectations of a Children's hopaital. I will try Cooks County now.

We drive 3 hours to get here and We have been sitting here for over 3 hours in the waiting room with a very sick baby with 102 plus temperature it is midnight and the waiting room is so noisy he can't rest more then a minute there are at least 10 children running around acting like its the middle of the day at a play ground I am not very impressed with this hospital so far I hope when we finally get to see a Dr for our 1 year old that has pneumonia and a fever that hasn't broke in 48 hours they will help him

This by far is one of the worst medical hospitals is have ever had to deal with. Not by choice i was told by the new insurance to try this place it was a new building at the time. My first impression was it was stinky and crowded. The staff was not nice unhappy rude. I also had a appointment but had to wait a hour after my appointment time to be told i could only choose one of the two symptoms my daughter was experiencing at the time.i waited for the rudest dr she was filipino told me to choose my daughters headaches or her dizziness i told her i'm not choosing she told me i have ten minutes for you i can only treat one symptom there are a lot of people in the waiting room and she couldn't talk time to help us more than another.she then said to come back in a week for the other symptoms i told her i will never come back and i will report her. I also called my insurance who told me that is dangerous and they will make a complaint. I feel bad for the families who are unaware of this treatment.

This place is a dump compared to the one in Plano. Dr looked at my kid 2 minutes before pushing us out into a waiting room for 45 minutes waiting for results. Told me to force my child to drink fluids with a syringe if he wouldn't on his own. Totally unhappy with our visit, everyone was in a rush and the building itself is old and patched up. I drove 45 minutes to avoid seeing Drs who wouldn't care about a sick 3 yr old but ended up with one anyways. We won't be returning to this hospital.

Not even sure where to start. Beautiful hospital but what it made it such a less tragic experience were the people and the over all care. I am so very thankful that we were sent to Childrens in Plano. My son who has Autism was admitted in a very acidic state as a new onset Type 1 Diabetic. He was admitted in less than 5 minutes and after a short stay in the ER he was quickly taken to the PICU where he was treated around the clock. I wish I could find the nurses name that cared for him that night as she was nothing short of amazing. I would love to send her a Thank You package as she not only took incredible care of my 7 year old but was there for me emotionally as well. They took a horrific diagnosis and a traumatic experience and made it just a little bit easier.

This hospital is trying to charge my family for medication we did not receive. We called them on it, then they sent an invoice with the correct medication but a higher amount to cover the cost they posted for the wrong medication, which was much more expensive. Unfortunately for them, I am also a medical professional and knew exactly what was given to my daughter and how much it costs. I prescribe it to my patients every day. This is a warning to all the other families that may be taken advantage of by this thieving billing department. Check your bills, get itemized invoices, and don't let these people continue to take advantage of families with sick children.

My daughter had Stage 3 Wilms Tumor(a cancerous tumor on the kidney.) She had her surgery done in Dallas of course. We got switched to Plano for chemo since for us it's a lot closer than Dallas. The doctors are GREAT! Although the gave us the wrong doctor at the time and kept switching her doctor, she finally got stuck with one! She did have her port removed in Plano and the nurses were amazing as well as the doctor. My daughter actually didn't have to have anxiety medicine this go round because the doctors and nurses were great with her! She went back to the OR without anything, just the nurse and colors and her baby! Her Dallas surgery she did have to have anxiety medicine considering it was her first ever surgery. The doctor wasn't so reassuring with the ER. We took her to our local ER to be treated for a 104° fever, not good for a cancer patient, and I told the doctor at her checkup what all happened and he said the Plano ER wouldn't have done any better. Yikes! Don't think I'll be going there for the life of me.

Very disappointed from their service. I called them and gave them my insurance info to let me know my deductible and they said $300-$400 for MRI and I asked them several time are you sure? She said yes. I received 3 bills from several department foe $1200!!!! I asked them the reason they just said sorry the rep give you wrong info! I asked them for discount or payment plan and they didn't send me any paperwork. I called 3 times for payment plan and finally I got paper from collection agency! Thank you so much to care this much for your client when they are straggling with their child health. Very good customer service for sure! Now I need my MRI after 8 months and they don't give you online form to email or fax to release your document.

Very upset and disappointed. I heard great things. I called my insurance before calling the provider. I called to make the appointment and asked several times to make sure my insurance would be accepted because I was having difficulty finding a provider to take it. They said yes and scheduled the appointment for 3 months later...yes I had to wait 3 months!!! SO, how upsetting is it to drive an hour each way to find out they do NOT take my insurance...you had 3 months to verify this and I asked several times when making the appointment. So I could stay and see the doctor for $400. Yeah that's why I pay SOOO MUCH every month so I don't have to pay the ENTIRE doctor bill. So my child waited 3 months to see a doctor and was turned away. VERY bad customer service. The very least they could have seen him today for the copay. Guess money is more important than the child. The staff was nice and apologetic that doesn't solve the problem. That does not give my son the medical service he needed. That does not help excuse the lack of follow through to verifying the insurance that I was told was accepted 3 months ago. But, they were kind.

Staff here always treat my children with care. After a car accident my daughter was transported by ambulance and the staff at the ER took care of her and explained everything to me so well, my daughter recalls her traumatic experience as that they treated her so "gentally" and they did. Such a good hospital, I wouldn't want to move out from Dallas because this hospital has always been my go to when my children need medical care. When it comes to an ER visit though the wait can be very long but they do make sure to find out if the current problem is stable and Im sure they base it on who needs immediate attention more than others. They check their temperature and vitals and depending on the case will determine the wait but we have gone to midnight ER visits and gotten out till even the morning sometimes. But when it was a different kind of emergency such as the ambulance car accident one, taking her off from the ambulance bed was so heartwarming to me that it took about 6-9 people to make sure to get her off as carefully as possible incase of any broken bones. I remember feeling as if they handled her as one would handle a clump of sugar that could crumble. Thank goodness for such a wonderful staff, I recommend this hospital. Their pediatrician office located in the purple pavilion is the best too for regular check ups and sick visits.

My grandaughter has severe food allergies and we can only take her here due to our insurance. We drive over 48 minutes to make it to her appointment. Get here 12 minutes early because we value peoples time. Better to be early then late. The people down stairs checking you in are great and run to assist you, with smiles on their faces. But after you leave the lobby the horrors start. You are shuffled into a hot waiting room and you sit and you sit and sit. Someone finally calls your name 1HOUR LATER. BUT YOUR APPOINTMENT was an hour ago and no one mentions any problems. They act like you should be happy they do not send you home so they can go to lunch or do their crossword puzzles. Since your child has allergies that could possibly kill them or cause them grevious harm. They act as if you can be treated at their pleasure. We would go somewhere else for our care but these people are supposed to be the best. I am just glad my grandaughter did not have an episode or she would have died in the one hour they took to call her in

Very poor doctors in cardiology, specifically the Electrophysiology (Arrhythmia) team. The doctors and nurses seem to be very assure of themselves, have been there a long time (maybe too long) but failed to catch a simple issue with son. They kept insisting on heart surgery, when in fact our cardiologist, not with Children's Medical Center, caught this basic issue and resolved it with a new pacemaker equipment adjustment. Problem they couldn't solve spending two days at the hospital over two separate weeks. Be sure to get a second opinion before accepting their recommendations.

There are not enough words to describe the people at Children's. My daughter has been a patient in the Neurofibromatosis Clinic for 20 years. Dr.'s Klesse, Bowers and Braga are the best in their field. Since 1997, my daughter has had the privilege of being treated by them. In 2012 when it was discovered she had a brain tumor they put her first. She underwent three brain operations, two rounds of chemo and 6 weeks of radiation, all done by the good people at Children's and UT Southwestern (Dr. Timmerman). They have literally saved her life! I deeply care for the staff and all involved in treating her. I really don't know what we would have done without them. You will never get a negative comment from me about this place. Even the cafeteria is great!

We were referred to the speech pathology department for a swallow study to look into why our newborn son was not feeding well and spitting up often. We had a Kiinde bottle system from Buybuybaby with a slow flow nipple that we use. The technicians mixed barium powder into the milk. On the imaging, it was immediately apparent that our son was not getting any milk from the bottle. We suggested that the powder had not been mixed well and had clogged the slow flow nipple; our concerns were waved off dismissively saying that the powder wasn't that thick, despite us describing the slow flow nipple as a very small trickle. We then offered to quickly run to the car to grab the medium flow nipple that goes with the same system, and we were refused this because you "have other appointments to get to." They then used a medium flow Dr. Brown's system that my son still did not feed well from - he has never used any Dr. Brown's products before, so I don't understand how the technicians could possibly expect him to perform on a system he's never used - so they immediately referred us out for therapy, highlighting the Children's therapy center of course, so that you can increase your billings more. It is abhorrent that a facility that ostensibly specializes in child care could be so dismissive of parent concerns and only spend 10 minutes or less with a child in an advanced study that you're billing our insurance several hundred dollars for. Clearly you value revenues over actual patient care. We will not be using Children's Health services of any kind in Dallas or Plano going forward.

Our baby in this hospital for over a week. RUN, DONT WALK TO COOK'S CHILDRENS IN FT WORTH! Many days nurse would come in and say "She's going home today". Doctor would come and say No and the nurses can't make that decision. Seems to be HUGE power play between Charge Nurses, Nurses and the Doctors. Your Baby gets caught in the middle. The nightmare of Children's the past week included mis communication from Doctors to Nurses, NURSES to Patient, wrong medicines given, Gavage Tube Feedings missed, Gavage Machine set wrong by nurses causes horrible vomiting and more diareaha from Baby. The list is long. Compassion from nursing staff and some of the first and second residents non existent If you find yourself STUCK in this hospital, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD ALONE! Watch everything they do to your child. Record their conversations while in your room. Because they will deny and call you a liar. YES, it happened Christmas Eve!!! Just avoid this hospital if at all possible. They have some serious problems to fix.

My son had gone to different ER 4 days before coming here and was turned away because his issue was rare (not easy to diagnose). The ER doc here was very compassionate and realized we needed the help of specialists. We were admitted and over the period of 7 days, my son was seen by several specialists that worked together to come to the best decision on how to treat my son. The doctors, nurses, therapists, etc were fantastic. My only feedback would be for some of the people to communicate a bit more with each other before showing up to work with my son. Some people didn't realize the severity of his issues until being with him for a bit. Still, I couldn't be more relieved that we went to this hospital and we are now on the road to recovery. I highly recommend this ER and hospital.

I can't say enough about Children's! My newborn son was flown here from Lubbock dealing with renal, digestive, and respiratory issues. The PICU staff has been unbelievable! I was involved in the Dr's round table discussions, they made sure we understood what was going on, the social workers were helpful, the nurses went out of their way to assist my wife, who is still recovering from a c-section, even the lady at the PICU security desk was awesome! I've been here a week, probably will be for a few more. For those who've had a bad experience, maybe try being a little less caustic. I have a deathly ill child and understand the stress, but if your kid is here you're in good hands! Thank God for the very talented staff, take a couple chill pills for yourself, and understand that no one, no matter how good they are can tell the future. Ask questions, listen to the answers, and write things down. Be nice. :) Tip: The cafeteria closest to the entrance is much better. EDIT: It's been four weeks and still counting. I tried to change my review from five to six stars but Yelp isn't cooperating... We've been to a regular room, and now in NICU with our little guy. Each floor is different, but the care has been awesome. If you have issue with care, ask questions, lots of questions. So far haven't found a nurse or doctor I can't work with. (And we've seen dozens...)

I had a medial emergency with my 3 year old and took them to the ER at Children's in Dallas. We currently can not afford healthcare insurance and our income, according to their website, qualifies us for financial assistance. We received excellent care. However, they are now denying us financial assistance because we could "possibly" get it from the government (medicaid) even though medicaid rejected us. I understand as a general practice it makes sense to let the government help first. But as a private run, non-profit hospital, they have no avenue for actually giving aid to people on their own apart from what the government does. Which is a real shame.

This company just fired almost 30 physicians and plan to replace them with nurses....what kind of priority can they have in regards to children's health if they don't have appropriate pediatrician's on staff. Know the level training of anyone taking care of your child. I would avoid this hospital.

The staff here is amazing. My daughter was transported from Methodist and was admitted to this hospital for acute appendicitis. For the most part, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Long wait times and very crowded, but that's to be expected when you have great Doctors. The bathrooms in the ER weren't as clean as they should have been but they were extremely busy so they can get a pass for that one. I'm sure with all that was going on it was very difficult to keep up. We were on Floor 10 building C and the Nurses were amazing. They always updated me to let me know what they were doing which left me With little to no questions. My only issue was when we were transported we were promised a room Every 15 minutes and we ended up being moved to 5 different rooms (not actual rooms, you know the little section that's divided by a curtain) well that! We were moved 4 times before we actually got a room. I was given a gift card to the cafeteria for the inconvenience & the nurse said this is to get you a meal. Well, when I got there I checked the balance and it was only $5 on it. but it was okay it's the thought that counts. All in all I would definitely Recommend this hospital to a friend. They are awesome when dealing with their patients.

I went to one of my daughter appointments with my mom 12/07 around 10:45am. When we went to the floor of the appointment, they told us that Christopher dadarian (whatever his last name is) had canceled preop & surgery. They didn't even bother to call to notify this change. The told us at apt floor to go to the doctors clinic to ask why. We waited awhile before the called MY mom in. The called security on me before we went in. We are Hispanic. The white nurce/medical assistant called security before they called my mom inside to notify her why they changed the appointment & they wouldn't let me in (mother of child). When she got out they told her they called security for her safety. We both got upset & offended because we didn't tell or spoke loud to anyone for them to call security on. We even recorded everything of coarse. We've had some really bad experiences with this hospital. There's other places to go to for cranialfacial surgery. This surgeons team are nothing but unprofessional & racist to race & braced on economic status.
